Kataloa derived from the Sotho word khathaloa or kgathaloa. We fell in love with Basotho culture and the beauty of their heritage and their language.
Sesotho expresses concepts in a manner that could possibly be unique to this language. Most languages possess multiple words in expression of opposites for verbs. This language simply adds - oa at the end of the verb. Khathala or kgathala means – to be tired/exhausted, the beautiful Sotho language simply changes the last vowel of this word and adds – oa to magically transform its meaning to relax or rest.
Matatiele is situated on the edge of the Sothern Lesotho border. Living so close to the Basotho has allowed us to observe, admire and interact with the culture. Lesotho holds a wealth of different experiences that include mountains, valleys, rivers and dams. Of more interest to us is the beautiful head to toe Basotho attire, fit for Kings and Queens.
Allow Kataloa Day Spa to take you on a trip to Lesotho. We offer a Basotho inspired range of massages, and facials. Allow us to captivate you with a complete mind and body experience, a short, beautiful, gently stimulating and invigorating trip to Lesotho.
